Gold Typhoon Group was founded in 2003. On the 1st January, 2011, it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pacific Global Management Asia (PGMA) under the leadership of Chairman Louis Pong.
As one of the most influential music and artist management companies in greater China, Gold Typhoon represents many Chinese and international artists, and has offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Taipei and Hong Kong. With more than 100 employees it is one of the most powerful entertainment companies in greater China.
Gold Typhoon’s senior management and production staff, along with its artist management and agent teams, work at the very highest standards, releasing albums and digital music, and providing a full range of management and support services for artists and agents, including the arrangement of commercial performances and brand ambassadorships.
Gold Typhoon is the exclusive licensee of EMI’s physical and digital music in China and Taiwan. Gold Typhoon also releases albums from European and American, Korean and Japanese artists.
Gold Typhoon’s catalogue contains more than 600,000 Chinese and international songs.

Since 2004, Gold Typhoon has been developing copyright of new media and digital music in greater China, and - together with China’s major wireless carriers, portals, handset manufacturers and other enterprises - has developed digital copyright value-added services in greater China.
Gold Typhoon was the first to develop a business model similar to those in international digital music copyright markets, yet with a marketing model and product design system appropriate to China.
