Xu Wei is one of the iconic figures in Pop music history in China. He joined Shanghai Push Typhoon in 2002 and launched his 3rd album “Walk in Time”, touching a larger audience with music that’s very personal and easy to listen to. He received most of the important music awards that year and really introduced himself and his music to the public. In 2005, Xu Wei held the first concert in Beijing “The Out-of-Print Youth” which created great sensation and was recognized by the media as the concert that fulfilled “the most glorious music dream”. In 2008 “Today” toured 8 cities including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Nanjing, and Xi’an. Not only did this tour beat the record of thehighest number of concerts in one tour and best ticket sales, his iconic symbolic image also created a new miracle in Mainland China’s live market. Furthermore, Xu Wei is one of the only two pop artists that got hisworks (lyrics) complied in The Chinese Contemporary Poem Collection in 1998.
